Addie Sinclair
Addie Sinclair has spent all her life living on Tamarack Loop, the cul de sac where she and her parents call home. She turns 16 in the novel Rumour du Jour. Prior to this novel her 16th birthday was going to mean freedom: the freedom to drive around Silverwoods and go to Junior’s Drive-In Burger Bar with her current best friend Sigge. However, getting her license and driving a car has become the last thing on Addie’s mind.
Lindsay Dixon
Lindsay Dixon has been a next-door neighbour and best friend to Addie Sinclair since they were three. The two of them used to do everything together: tap dance classes, soccer, swimming, pre-school, from kindergarten to high school.
Sigge Baxter
Signe (Sigge) Baxter is Addie Sinclair’s new best friend since Vortex of Doom when Sigge and her parents (Wanda and Glen) and her brother (Bernerd) moved onto Tamarack Loop. Sigge and Addie were not on real speaking terms until the end of the summer holidays when Addie was more receptive to Sigge’s friendship overtures and it seemed safe to venture away from home.
Bernerd Baxter
Bernerd Baxter is beautiful. He has black hair and grey wolf eyes that operate like lasers into your soul.
Bernerd is a pizza delivery guy and, because he is exceptionally polite, he makes great tips. He has saved enough money from his job to buy a very groovy hearse and a Vespa scooter. He has learned basic car and motorcycle mechanics to be able to service his own vehicles. He is an excellent money manager and understands the power of cash as a way to get what he wants, but he is not a jerk about it. Instead, he is thoughtful, methodical and always honest.
